Executive Summary – CAMTS Board Meeting – October 22-24, 2009

San Jose, CA

The Board of Directors met for three days in San Jose prior to the AMTC. Dr Ralph Rogers, Chair presided over the meeting and introduced two new Board representatives – Lt Col Christle Shavers, representing U.S. Transcom and Kirk Schmitt, State EMS Director from Iowa, representing the NASEMSO.

There were 17 accreditation deliberations and 4 progress reports reviewed by the full Board. In addition, there were also 16 progress reports reviewed by the Executive Committee.

There were two guest speakers during the three-day meeting. Captain Bruce Tesmer (joined by Dr John Overton by conference phone) provided Part II of Threat and Error Management Training that began at the April 2009 Board meeting. Dr. Mark Rosekind provided education on sleep and fatigue and discussed his Z Coach training available on the web site.
